SLRA is a frontline community organisation providing specialist advice and support to refugees, asylum seekers, and other migrants at risk or in crisis due to past trauma or restrictions related to their current immigration status.
Volunteers are Essential
Volunteers play a crucial role in welcoming people, cooking lunches, giving advice, accompanying individuals to appointments, helping in the office, assisting in learning new skills, teaching English, organising parties and events, supporting the Youth Club, and much more.
The team includes over 50 volunteers, many of whom are local people with lived experience of migration.
Interested in Volunteering?
Volunteers from all sections of the community are welcomed, particularly those with lived experience of the immigration or asylum system. SLRA provides induction and ongoing training, as well as regular group and/or one-to-one supervision.
Volunteering at SLRA offers valuable knowledge and skills for future learning or employment.
